In Sept 2006 YSN took part in the One Love Hackney Peace Week which was a week long programme of events culminating in a large outdoor event on Sunday 17th September in Shoreditch Park. The programme was specifically targeted at helping to tackle the growing problem of gun and gang violence, as well as the increase in knife crimes in London.

The Location, Location, Location project aimed to give a group of young people the hands on experience of filming at a live event, which is very different from working in a standard studio or a film set. The young people were also involved in the organisation and preparations prior to the event. With the help of our tutors the group of young people became a professional camera crew following the Mardi Gras Carnival and Peace Walk through the streets of Hackney and they also filmed the entire event including the main stage and the talent tent.

A great day was had by all at what turned out to be very successful event. After the event the young people were also taken through the process of editing the final piece; which enabled them to gain an understanding of the editing process.
